World Mental Health Day was yesterday. I normally don’t pay a vast amount of attention to these ‘special’ days, as I feel that you should be mindful of all types of things happening within the world regardless of the one day designated for something imparticular. Since yesterday my view on this has now changed. I and another went to visit a health clinic specialising in osteopathy. It turned out to be a really interesting discussion and I can only hope that working with this client will make me more knowledgeable about osteopathy and general health. These Osteopaths target specific parts of your body to You have to give real credit to the people that smile for no given reason. Those that laugh intensively regardless of people that fail to see the joy in life. The ones that don’t let you ruin their vibe regardless of what kind of energy they pick up from you. These people are the definition of the strong ones that will keep going no matter what. You might see someone smile and think everything is ok with them but inside they are slowly falling apart. Addictions. Stress. Anxiety. Panic. Depression. Those are just naming a few! We hide behind so much in order to keep going in life.
I’ve got a friend that has recently done his back in! I didn’t realise the severity of this until he explained the situation in further detail. He’s a little sarcastic at times- which I admire lol. When he was telling me he was in the hospital I didn’t believe him until he mentioned it a second time. He’s a workaholic. A person that just wants to achieve whatever he can. I don’t know the ins and outs of his life, but I know that given he likes to go above and beyond there may be a possibility that his health gets shoved to the end of the line sometimes. We’re all guilty of this sometimes.
Now.. I will let you in on a secret! I have a slight phobia of cupboards, ones that haven’t been used in some time. Gradually I am overcoming this as I fail to make it become an issue where I don’t step near one again lol. I also tend to get slightly hesitant before going to meetings. I begin to self-doubt myself. It takes copious amounts of self-talk to remind myself that I do know what I’m talking about and I am experienced in what I specialise in. I believe that we all tend to self-doubt ourselves at times. When this happens you need to think about why you started and what your mission is on this earth. Everything has the potential to achieve whatever they want to regardless of class, religion, background, experiences etc. The only thing I will say is that you MUST take care of your health. This is something I’m working towards also. I need to become the best version of myself physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s important that we steer towards the best individuals we can be. It’s ok to NOT be ok. It’s fine if you have your off days. Try your hardest to get back up again and if you cant, seek help in order to get back up. This world is yours so take it ❤
I’m sorry in advance to generalise here but I just want it to be known that EVERYONE has some form of mental health issue that they do not admit. They have a fear of admitting this due to the stigma placed on mental health through society. If I have a cold im quick to tell my closest ones that I don’t feel so great. If I’ve got a problem with my arms and legs I will make it known to you. So why.. If you have a problem with something internal that your battling should you seize up in shame and embarrassment. Your only human. You’re in a world based on a mixture. A mixture of lies. Crime. Love. Disaster. Jealousy and malicious people. If you think that would have no impact on the way you think and feel then your not thinking right.
I’m far from a therapist! However, I work on a regular basis with people that have disabilities or mental health issues. This makes them no less of a person. Actually, I admire their honesty and love them for the individuals they are. My aim for 2019 is to target more charities that specialise in mental health issues and disabilities and do some charitable work with them as this is something I am passionate about.
